Right across from the Blue Mosque is the Aya Sofya. The Aya Sofya was built in 567! It was first a Christian church, then was turned into a Muslim mosque in 1453, in 1934 it was turned into a museum. Unlike the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya was not free to enter but boy was it worth it! It is also a huge empty room, but it doesn't have the massive pillars to support the dome. I'm not sure how they built that back in 567 but they did a good job. There is also some very cool artwork and one guy is even burried there. Looking at both the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sofya is breathtaking.
